Yeast biscuits

Ingredients

2 tbsp yeast dissolved in1/3 cup warm water


5 cups flour

1/3 cup sugar

2 cups buttermilk

1tsp salt

2 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup shortening

Directions

Cut shortening into dry ingredients until it feels like coarse meal.

Mix buttermilk with yeast mixture.

Mix all together, roll out and cut into small biscuits. Place close together on sheet pan, cover and let rise one hour.

Bake at 400 for 10 minutes.
